The Oregon House of
Representatives unanimously approved SB618:
Workplace Accommodation for Breastfeeding Mothers. Although
the bill is not all that the supporters had hoped for, it is
a great achievement in the current political climate.
In addition to being featured on the front page of The
Oregonian, Nursing Mother's Counsel
volunteer lobbyist Diane
Garrett was also recognized on the floor of the House by
Representative Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum also made the great
decisions to list all the many supporters of the bill, and
to read for the record the employers benefit language that
was stripped from the bill due to AOI's pressure.
