What do breastfed babies and employers have in common?  They both depend on a working mother.  NMC can help families and employers through DHS Mother Friendly Employer Certification process.

Employers Benefit when They Support Breastfeeding

Implementing workplace lactation programs creates positive results, including lower absenteeism, high productivity, high company loyalty, high employee morale, and lower health care costs. Because an ill child is a frequent cause of absenteeism among employed mothers, worksite programs that aim to improve children's health may also bring about a reduction in maternal absenteeism. Mothers with formula fed children missed work because their children were ill three times more often compared to mothers who breastfed their children.
